ASP DP2000 selects Xenos software for Internet billing

Xenos d2e Platform™ chosen by Delta Progetti 2000 (part of the Comdata Group) to transform millions of printed telco bills for Web access

TORONTO, Ontario, January 11, 2001 - Xenos (TSE: XNS), the data to e-content company™, is providing its Xenos d2e Platform™ software to specialist application solution provider Delta Progetti 2000, in a deal worth six figures.

DP2000, part of the Comdata Group, is incorporating the Xenos software as part of the total document management software solutions it provides to large and medium-sized companies, including telcos, banks, insurance and utilities. It is being used to transform millions of customer bills into e-content for presentment on the Internet.

The Xenos d2e Platform is a component-based architecture that re-purposes data and documents into e-content formats, such as XML, HTML and PDF. It enables DP2000, as well as large end-user organizations and systems integrators, to select the appropriate software to meet their data to e-content transformation needs.

DP2000, based in Italy, evaluated software from several vendors before selecting the Xenos solution. "Xenos demonstrated how it could take a customer's output of 4.5 million bills per month and transform it quickly and easily for Web presentment," said Andrea Armani, CEO of DP2000. "We found Xenos' software to be robust and flexible and very easy to implement, which is a major benefit when selling to large and medium-sized companies. We can now provide a complete document management solution, which increases our ability to reach new customers looking to take their businesses online."

DP2000's document management system archives and manages telco customer billing data. To create an archive the company is using the AFP2PDF component of the Xenos d2e Platform to re-purpose customers' IBM AFP output data into Adobe PDF format files, which customers can access and view via a Web browser.

Armani concluded: "Re-purposing customer output data for the Web is very easy using the Xenos d2e Platform. We can transform and implement a customer's data in a very short period. That gives us a significant competitive advantage in the ASP marketplace."

Glen Manchester, President and CEO of Xenos, said: "In the fast moving and highly competitive e-business marketplace, application solution providers such as DP2000 must implement customer solutions in Internet time. Incorporating the Xenos d2e Platform as part of a total e-business solution significantly enhances competitiveness and time to market."
