Scottish Amicable selects Xenos software

Xenos d2e Platform™ helps Experian's customers improve customer relationships

TORONTO, Ontario, April 25, 2001 - Xenos (TSE: XNS), the data to e-content companyT, is providing software to Scottish Amicable, part of Prudential plc, one of the largest worldwide financial services groups, to help the insurer bring new products to market faster and more cost effectively.

Xenos' data to e-content transformation software, the Xenos d2e Platform™, is being used by more than 200 developers at Scottish Amicable to reduce the output times for the proofing of around 300 documents per week, which include product quotations for Independent Financial Advisers (IFAs), and pensions and mortgages statements.

Scottish Amicable, selected Xenos' software to repurpose document proofs, normally output via high volume Xerox printers, into Adobe PDF format for viewing and checking on desktop PCs. Using the Xenos solution, Scottish Amicable has improved efficiency in developing quotations and statements for IFAs and customers.

Scottish Amicable evaluated software from four vendors before selecting the Xenos solution. "The main reasons for choosing the Xenos d2e Platform were the accuracy of the PDF conversion, and the potential for document publishing on the Web," said Heather Logan, Customer Service Director at Scottish Amicable. "Having installed Xenos' solution for proofing, we now plan to use it to generate PDF files for output distribution. Some of the features such as bookmark navigation, embedded urls, logos, and so on, will be of benefit here. The Xenos d2e Platform has definitely proved to be the best choice for us."

The Xenos d2e Platform's component-based architecture allows 'bricks and mortar' organizations, such as Scottish Amicable, to select exactly the software they need to transform data from disparate sources into Web-ready formats, including XML, HTML, WML, and PDF. In this application, Scottish Amicable selected the META2PDF component of the Xenos solution, plus Xenos' Intelligent Document Control (IDC), which provides documents and data to e-content based upon business rules, all in a single pass of the input.

"In the digital economy, large financial services organizations such as Scottish Amicable face the challenge of bringing products to market ahead of their competitors," said Glen Manchester, President and CEO of Xenos. "Our software helps these companies transform their mission critical documents quickly and easily for Web presentment as part of their e-business strategies."
