Xenos CEO speaks at Nanjing Technology Conference, markets d2e Vision in People's Republic of China

TORONTO, Ontario, April 30 2003 - Xenos Group Chairman and CEO, Stuart Butts, spoke to the Plenary Forum of the 2003 China International Electronic Information Technology Fair in Nanjing on April 9, 2003.

Mr. Butts was travelling in China to promote the launch of Xenos d2e Vision, a new product that supports Asian double byte character set languages.

The topic of his presentation was the successful development of Global Software technologies and strategic implications for China.

Drawing on Xenos' long and successful history he compared the development of Software Clusters to the creation of a fishing village. "Once one fisherman is successful others will follow."

Necessary preconditions include educated and skilled workers, a good local
market and legal protections for creative works.

Once the village supplies its own needs it can go on to export to other markets in the global economy.

"Our successful development of unique Print or View Anything Anywhere technologies is not just valuable in North America, but large Chinese companies such as China Merchants Bank, Agricultural Bank of China and People's Insurance Company of China can all see its value," concluded Mr. Butts.

In addition to speaking at the Technology Fair, Mr Butts met with a number of potential local software partners and visited numerous potential Xenos customers in Shanghai, Shenzhen and Beijing, returning to Toronto on April 19, 2003.

"There is a very important market opportunity for us in China. It may take some time to develop, but with China joining the World Trade Organization it will undoubtedly embrace many of the West's business constructs, including sophisticated business to business and business to consumer communications. It will have to do this to compete with Western financial institutions that are currently entering or are planning to enter the Chinese market," said Mr. Butts.
