XML2PDF Merge supports real-time online insurance policy application processing
TORONTO, Ontario, May 5, 2003 - Xenos (TSX: XNS), the data to e-content company™, today announced that it has developed and successfully implemented XML2PDF Merge at its first customer site. It provides automated online merging of XML formatted data into PDF documents for Internet distribution, viewing and printing.
Insurance and financial services companies require fast, simple, on-line solutions for their agents and customers to access and complete forms in real-time for policy and account applications, quotes, requests for information or trade confirmations. Xenos XML2PDF Merge provides an elegant answer to these requirements. XML2PDF Merge implements ACORD forms standards. Xenos is a member of ACORD, a global, non-profit insurance association whose mission is to facilitate the development and use of standards for the insurance, reinsurance and related financial services industries.
In a typical insurance application process, a customer meets with an insurance agent to purchase a new policy. The agent, connected to the insurance company's network, fills out an application for the customer by entering all the required data on a Web form. This data is captured in XML format by the insurance company, processed and approved. Xenos XML2PDF Merge software fills in the fields on the PDF form with the appropriate XML data. The PDF document is then immediately returned to the agent over the Internet.
Insurance companies benefit from immediate policy approval. They can capture more business because there are no delays between application and approval. They also benefit by exchanging XML data with other businesses and third-party systems.
Customers benefit by knowing that they have been approved immediately instead of having to wait for weeks.
"XML2PDF Merge supports the XML data format which is now an industry-wide standard for information exchange. With XML2PDF Merge, Xenos is entering exciting high-growth markets that use XML data to generate online electronic documents. Designed to support the global ACORD standards among others, this solution is particularly well suited to the insurance industry," said Jim Farmer, President and COO of Xenos. "This new solution complements existing Xenos d2e Platform insurance solutions and can be implemented by current Xenos insurance customers."
