Release of infoWEB 5.0 strengthens Xenos overall competitive position
TORONTO, Ontario, Jun 30 2003. Xenos (TSX: XNS), the data to e-content company™, today made an aggressive move forward in the IDARS (Integrated Document Archival and Retrieval Systems) market space with the release of version 5.0 of its Xenos infoWEB software.
infoWEB 5.0 continues the aggressive product development investment Xenos has committed to since acquiring Rush Creek Software in May of 2002. The new version of infoWEB implements many innovative features in response to customer demand.
"infoWEB 5.0 achieves the objective of the Rush Creek acquisition. This is a dramatic step forward for the way companies use and exchange critical business information. It embraces the use of Internet technology to help companies resolve the issue of controlling and accessing information in disparate legacy and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems while reducing cost and complexity", said Ralph Brocato, Xenos Director of infoWEB Products.
infoWEB's new component-based architecture is flexible, extensible and scalable. infoWEB integrates readily, via plug-ins, with document management, workflow, archiving, content management and other applications. Solutions using enterprise application infrastructure middleware tools such as Tuxedo and MQ Series can now invoke infoWEB functions.
Secure browser-based administration functions increase flexibility for central and remote control over distribution rules and recipients. End user security has been enhanced to allow recipients to receive content securely through firewalls.
InfoWEB 5.0's subscribe-and-publish distribution model gives end user recipients the choice to define which reports they receive. Now IBM AFP, Xerox Metacode, HP PCL and Adobe PDF reports can be distributed for viewing and printing.
"infoWEB strengthens Xenos' competitive position in providing products that bridge the worlds of enterprise printing, archiving and e-business", said Jim Farmer, President and COO of Xenos.
Xenos (www.xenos.com) software enables organizations to transform and distribute electronic versions of printed documents, supporting their e-business and print strategies. Xenos d2e Vision™, d2e Platform™ and infoWEB™ software are utilized without changing existing systems.
