Brazilian Service Bureau wins major government customer using robust Xenos software
TORONTO, Ontario, July 15, 2003 - Xenos (TSX: XNS), the data to e-content company™, today announced that Totalprint Ltda., a print service bureau in São Paulo Brazil, has implemented Xenos d2e Platform software for its new customer Prodam, after signing a license agreement with Xenos' Brazilian reseller partner, Poly Software and Consulting.
Totalprint won the contract with Prodam by quickly demonstrating it could fulfill an urgent requirement for a critical one-time annual print production job. Prodam, the data processing department of the city of São Paulo and the world's second largest municipal data processing organization, had to print 18 million pages of Garbage Collection Tax notices and 7.5 million pages of Services Tax Notices within a three-day production window.
Xenos d2e Platform was selected to meet the technical requirement to process applications originally developed for Xerox high-speed printers and transform them to print on IBM printers. This is part of a growing trend in Brazil as organizations and service providers seek to cut costs while maintaining quality. Xenos d2e Platform is the key enabler of this capability, based on years of experience with the high-volume printstreams of Xenos' customers around the world.
"We only had a few weeks to win this contract. The robustness, rapid implementation and ease-of-use of the Xenos d2e Platform met our needs perfectly. Poly Software & Consulting, Xenos' reseller in Brazil, was very knowledgeable and worked closely with our team on-site to implement the crucial production runs in time," said Marcelo Pieroni, Managing Partner of Totalprint. "This was an important win for Totalprint. Based on its success, we anticipate assisting Prodam with other projects and growing our business with more new clients."
"We are proud to provide this critical solution for Prodam and to include Totalprint among our list of leading service bureau clients in Brazil using the Xenos d2e Platform," said Ricardo Ferreira, President of Poly Software and Consulting. "Xenos has proven itself repeatedly as a highly responsive vendor with the solution of choice for our customers' print transformation and electronic presentment requirements."
"In addition to enabling e-business solutions, Xenos d2e Platform is well suited for projects that require rapid implementation of high-volume production print solutions," said Jim Farmer, President and COO of Xenos. "Xenos software is being selected in Brazil to respond to customer's requirements for printer vendor independence."
