Xenos releases d2e Vision version 1.2

High performance software adds support for Xerox Metacode input, HTML/CSS web output, PDF linearization for faster web viewing and 128-bit Acrobat PDF encryption for fraud protection

TORONTO, Ontario, June 08, 2004 - Xenos Group Inc. (TSX: XNS), the data to e-content company™, today announced the release of version 1.2 of d2e Vision, its next-generation software product. Two new major components are now available - one for processing Xerox Metacode/DJDE input printstream files and one for generating HTML/CSS output for web presentation. These complement the existing capability to process IBM AFP printstreams and generate PDF, Image, TIFF, AFP and XML output formats for critical e-business applications such as web-based customer statement presentment.

Among many other product features, two significant PDF output enhancements were also added: linearization of PDF files to enable faster viewing across the web of the first pages in a document while the rest of the file downloads, and Standard Acrobat 128-bit encryption for document security and fraud protection.

Some of the world’s largest banks in North America and Asia have recently implemented Xenos d2e Vision in high-volume production processing millions of pages hourly. They selected d2e Vision particularly for its highly scalable performance enabled by its support for multi-threading, resource caching and streaming input/output.

The d2e Vision software also provides the critical performance needed in many other large financial services, insurance, telecommunications, service bureaus and utilities organizations to meet their requirements for flexible archiving, content management and dynamic e-business Web document presentment solutions with data extraction, document separation, transformation and repurposing capabilities.

Bill Kurtz, Xenos’ Vice President of Sales and Marketing, stated “d2e Vision v1.2 continues Xenos’ strategic product development investment in meeting the ever increasing performance and functionality our customers’ require for archiving, retrieval and web presentment of mission critical documents.”

Written 100% in Java, the d2e Vision component architecture is extensible and has a powerful application programming interface for flexible integration in Java environments. d2e Vision v1.2 processes AFP and Metacode/DJDE input printstreams and generates AFP, HTML/CSS, Image (PNG, JPEG), PDF and TIFF output. Rapid application development with d2e Vision Developer Studio enables higher productivity and faster return on investment. It features a graphical interface for complex font mapping with complete multi-language support, including full double-byte language capability for the Asian market. d2e Vision is available on Windows NT/2000/XP, AIX, HP-UX, Linux, Solaris and IBM z/OS (under Unix Systems Services).
