Methodology:

1. Discovery - Information Infrastructure Analysis

In this phase, we work jointly with your team to identify your current document processes, gathering the information we need to identify bottlenecks, access usability of the systems, determine resources needed to process information, and identify the technologies being used to support your current processing infrastructure. Through a series of Interviews we identify and validate the current processing infrastructure, technical requirements and challenges, business value for change, and the total cost of ownership for the current infrastructure.

Deliverable: The Discovery Report

  • Process Flow Diagrams
  • Process Description Documentation
  • Cost breakdown of current information processes
  • Usability Specifics
  • Adaptability Specifics

2. Diagnostic - Information Infrastructure Efficiency

In this phase we look at your current systems and processes and identify the inefficiencies, then investigate and provide alternatives that show you how to consolidate, and/or modify your current information and processes to make them efficient, flexible, and adaptable.

Deliverable: The Diagnostic Report
The Diagnostic Report focuses on information flow efficiency by examining the following:
  • multiple processes or systems performing virtually the same task or purpose,
  • time consuming tasks in the current system(s),
  • effort duplication that consumes manual or automated resources,
  • information that is isolated, locked down and not usable outside of existing system(s)

3. Architect - Information Infrastructure Blueprint

In this phase we make suggestions on how to create, consolidate, or modify your information processes and content models to make them more efficient and flexible.

To maximize system reuse, existing archives are carefully considered to preserve our non-intrusive technology focus.

The model should be flexible to support a direct increase in volume, a dynamic business environment, and allow you to add new technologies as your requirements change. The majority of enterprise of content is under-utilized and it should work harder for you.

Additionally and where applicable, prototyping and benchmarking of additional infrastructure technology is performed to gage where future software or hardware investment must be made to bridge gaps.

Content will be extended to all the groups, people, processes, and systems that need to see or use it, in accordance with a strict security model.

Deliverable: The Blueprint
  • Updated Process Flow Diagrams
  • Updated Process Description Documentation
  • Process Impact Analysis
  • Process improvement recommendations for current technology investment
  • Test plan and test harness descriptions
  • Prototyping and benchmark Analysis.

4. Opportunity - Information Architecture Strategy

Does your current technology support your blueprint? We will perform an opportunity study to make sure that your current IT investments will support and sustain your information process model. In this phase, we determine if your current technology supports your blueprint. We can perform document process opportunity studies to make sure that the process model we provide works effectively in your environment. We answer questions regarding loading archive systems, document transformation, database access, Web application integration, hardware benchmarking. We will conduct planning sessions and create the necessary requirements documentation for the feasibility study as well as an execution plan, document results and perform debrief session to review the results.

Deliverable: The Opportunity Report
  • Optional technology investment recommendations
  • Impact analysis and operational cost savings
  • Recommended rollout plan
The Opportunity Report identifies that key areas of concern for the project and focuses on the notion that "the doable is actually achievable". This involves documenting these key areas, performing the necessary Proof of Concept and documenting the results to back up the proposal.
